Excellent maul - much better than my existing one. Light and nicely balanced and good quality - should last for many years. It was dispatched quickly and i was informed by email about the delivery date and time. Very impressed.

Superb axe. Excellent weight and balance. Easy to handle and to swing. Breaks dry logs easily with moderate effort from me. Lip at the end of the handle gives a secure positive feel in the hand. Tooled-up price is excellent too. Delivery was quick once the axe had been brought in from the supplier. Hard to imagine a better axe than this. Best to see videos for sound advice on how to use it safely and effectively.

I bought this axe to replace a 'cheap' one that I have been using for years. Unfortunately it is nowhere near as good as the cheap £25 one that i'm used to. Whilst it is very sharp, I find this a hinderance with freshly cut wood as it is always getting stuck into either my block or the wood being cut. The chisel on the head is also not as wide which adds to this effect, unfortunately I've given up with this axe and gone back to the 'trotters traders' £25 splitter in order to save time and get more first time splits. I have also noticed a few burrs on the blade, after only a weeks worth of splitting which is not an indication of a hard steel composition. On the positive side, it's a good length and and appears well made!
