I bought this B&D strimmer last year but wanted to give it a good test over a few summer/autumn and spring months in really demanding conditions before submitting my review (how's 3-4 feet tall overgrowth for you?). I was looking for a heavy duty strimmer as my needs are more than the average gardener and wanted the HDL lines with a bit more grunt. Firstly, Tooled-up had the best price and the strimmer was dispatched and arrived quickly. Assembly was straight forward. I used the standard spool supplied and after an hour's use the line gave up the ghost. Then I installed the HDL line. Wow, amazing cuts through the thickest of grass, weeds and overgrowth like it wasn't there! Just take care and wear safety glasses and angle the head and distance to ground so that you don't damage or scalp your lawn! Believe me, this thing will strip anything in its path. It is relatively light weight and well balanced so using it for a couple hours is not a problem both in terms of the weight and of the motor performance. In general I am very pleased with the performance of this strimmer but take care when strimming near rocks, pavements, walls or any hard surface. Yes, there is a guide wheel but when the lines make contact with any hard surface...the hard surface wins and the lines wear out pretty quickly indeed. I would recommend the HDL line rather than the spool line. It is a quality product which I hope to use for many years to come.

I already own this product, so I purchased it from Tooled-up for a member of the family I have had no trouble with mine over the past 2 years, so when looking on the net Tooled -up came up with the right price. so if it is as good as the one I use, and they are both the same model he should be happy with this product I can not fault it.

Much improved trimmer over our previous one, feels light while in use, trims very well but not used it for edging.
