After doing a bit of research I settled on the Gardena Bulb Planter in spite it costing twice the price of some others. I was not disappointed as it is a robust piece of kit of high guage powder coated steel and should last many years. I liked the hand release trigger which made releasing soil cores that much easier. At the end of the day you get what you pay for don't you?

Never planted bulbs before, got this gadget and thank goodness I did!!! Absolutely brilliant, measurements down the side so you know how deep you're digging, excellent quality, I did the research, this came out top and I certainly have no complaints and the bright colour helps as forever losing stuff in the garden.

I had read several articles in which the Gardena Automatic Release Bulb Planter had been reviewed and come amongst the top five ... which was good enough for me. I bought it to help me in planting a selection of bulbs over a large area with mainly clay soil. Although I have not finished the project this gadget is making it easier and faster. I agree with the reviews I read ... Good value and easy to use.
