I am pleased with the product, which reaches high up branches and cuts easily through thick ones lower down. The machine itself is quite heavy and needs a strong person to use it. Overall, a good buy.

Instructions precise re assembly 10 points. Need to have chain saw oil (not provided) soak chain in 1 hour suggest you put chain in plastic jug then pour oil over remove then use jug to fill the little oil tank that lubricates the chain pouring rest back into bottle get from b&q maybe order with product is best. Once assembled cuts with ease; pole extends 9ft and cuts fairly thick 6 inch branches. Need to let it take its time, don't force. Cuts up debris on ground, be careful that you don't cut cable or get earth in mechanism. Easy to clean though remove cover with spanner provided / clean before you put away as debris builds up inside which could cause problems if you don't. Also remember to check chain tension after use ready for next time / make adjustment (quite easy). V good product, saved me £300 at least already. Neighbours will be queueing up to borrow.

Pretty good once i'd got the chain on the right way round (instructions could be clearer!). Does weigh a bit at full extension, but cutting action is quick and clean.

This product appears good and performs well at first use. However its design is unsafe an ultimately will cause the chain to come off. The problem is that the chain bar has two holes to fit onto retaining lugs in the head as well as the guide and adjustment slot. However there is only one retaining lug in the head, a second having been omitted to allow for chain oil intake. This means that the bar tightens in a one sided and unbalanced manner which also pulls it upwards away from centre. The net result is an unbalanced bar which eventually works loose allowing the chain to come off. A little more thought and inclusion of a second retaining lug for the bar would have prevented this and added little or nothing to the overall cost. It is a tragic mistake and oversight on the part of Black and Decker and I will personally be steering clear of their power tools in the future.

Very top heavy however, not sure how this could be made better. It measurements for transport is at least 6 foot long so bere that in mind when collecting. I have not used it extended has its heavy enough at length it comes. Chain was easy to fit, I’m a 5foot1 55 yr female and could handle it. Start with lower and smaller branches until you get use to using it. Cuts through branches with ease. During cutting a higher branch chain got stuck. I was did not angle it properly I unplugged the saw removed chain re-tightened and kept it moving. Oil does not run out as fast as reviews say, but do keep an eye. So far so good. When we get some decent weather I will be out again pruning my other tree. I would defo recommend this product

The oil stopped flowing, the saw sparked and stopped working. Luckily, she cut what she was supposed to cut. It worked for 7 days.
