The instructions say it needs oil every 10 mins of operation, and I definitely found that to be the case. Small twigs can cause chain fouling. You can chop larger trunks if you're able to rotate the log - look on YouTube. Overall it did what I wanted it to do, the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 for performance is that it needed more attention to the chain than I was expecting.

This product is so easy to use and does the job well, we used it to cut through very thick tree branches, it is easy to grip and is sturdy. We like the quality of the product as it provided value for money and even though we had to be careful not to cut through the cord, it did everything asked of it. A handy tool to have, we would certainly buy another in due course.

All I can say is AWESOME!! A very safe way to cut branches and if you turn the logs round you can actually cut up to 8inches, deep enough for most. It's sooo good I have thought of many other uses for it and I will now buy the battery version. Honestly you will not be dissapointed when you buy this, I did a solid whole day of cutting up logs the day I received it and it didn't bat an eyelid, it is powerful and sharp, the chain came off once but was really easy to put back on. If there is a bad point it is that rather than having a large chain oil reservoir, you have to fill the small reservoir up every ten mins of use, but it takes about 1 minute to fill so isn't that bad. Use a purpose made chain oil not ordinary oil. If you want a safe easy way to cut logs/branches/twigs please please buy this!!

Only used the alligator saw a couple of times so far but can already see what a very good addition it is has no trouble sawing thru wood from trees

Very good purchase did exactly what it said on the tin. I have used it several times since I purchased it and it hasn`t let me down. Excellent for cutting smaller branches of a tree.
