The Knipex 95 12 StepCut Cable Shears are compact professional cable cutters designed for electricians and contractors working with copper and aluminium cables. At just 160mm in length, these lightweight shears deliver powerful cutting performance without crushing the cable insulation.

The innovative StepCut technology features graduated cutting edges that engage wires sequentially rather than simultaneously, reducing the force required by up to 40% compared to conventional cable shears of equivalent length. This makes cutting larger diameter cables significantly less fatiguing during prolonged use. The ergonomic handle design ensures optimal cutting feel and control even when working with heavier gauge conductors.

These cable shears are ideal for cutting multi-core stranded copper and aluminium cables up to 15mm diameter (50mm²), as well as solid copper and aluminium cables up to 5 x 4mm². The precision bolted joint construction ensures smooth, effortless operation throughout the tool's working life, whilst the fitted pinch guard enhances user safety during operation.

The cutting edges benefit from additional induction hardening to approximately 56 HRC, delivering long-lasting sharpness and durability in demanding trade environments. Please note these shears are not suitable for cutting steel wire or hard drawn copper conductors.
