I've rented a slightly older version of the Puzzi a couple of years ago. I was sufficiently impressed to buy one. They are not cheap, positioned between the type of machines that real professionals use, and domestic carpet cleaners. So provided you presoak with the spray about 10 minutes before, it does a reasonably good job of cleaning soiled carpets, but you wouldn't want to use it for very large areas. The vacuum is quite good and leaves the carpet fairly dry, though you might benefit from a fan or dehumidifier to speed the drying process. Overall it is easy to use, but a bit slow to get a great result. The detergent tablets are expensive in small quantities, and you'll soon be buying a large tub of these, so factor that in your running costs. Karcher could do a better job about warning you to use an anti foaming agent in the pipe/machine when cleaning, it's all too easy to suck foam into the motor and cause damage. Note that for its "professional range" Karcher do not appear to offer a guarantee, so machine damage could be expensive. The anti-foam liquid is not expensive.
