My first impression was excellent, just what I have been looking for. But on using the Whetstone, it was very disappointing, The Whetstone turns too slowly, I was trying to Sharpen my Jack Plane Iron, but it was taking ages, so I reverted to the old way, sharpened it on the grinding stone and kept dipping it in a dish of cold water, gave me a very good edge, but not a ideal way to sharped tools. But Im still glad I bought one.

used this once so far after grinding chisels on the whetstone for 10 mins i noticed smoke coming out of gear housing i removed this cover and found a metal gear to a nylon gear which drives the whetstone it gets very hot. after letting cool for 5 mins i continued to grind. it can only do 10 mins at a time before you have to let it cool again. as i only use it monthly i'll put up with it. did consider sending it back but other brands on the market i've not heard of. if draper read this maybe you could help the gear is well greased.
