I was surprised how tough these sanding sheets are, sanding a weathered wooden side gate which was quite rough, it didn't Trouble the sanding sheet at all, isn't modern technology great. Older sanding sheets wouldn't have lasted I would l would probably have gone through 4or 5, compared to these modern design sanding sheets. Can highly recommend

Certainly work well on old varnish and do not clog in the way that sandpapers clog
