ARS 180ZF Telescopic Razor Edge Tree Pruner and Loppers

I purchased the ARS 180ZF to enable me to reduce the height of my acer tree that had grown too high. The extended reach of the lopper / pruner meant I could reach the highest branches from ground level - job done without having to use professional tree contractors. i can now keep control of the tree with regular lopping. The quality of the item (Japanese made) is really high and the blade is razor sharp. Highly recommended.

Quite pricey but very well built. Very easy to use and adjust to the perfect length. It works brilliantly on new wood such as rose or clematis but struggles on older, hardened wood. I've tried cheaper extendable pruners and this is far superior in every aspect.

Excellent quality and exceptionally light, so highly manoevreable. At full extension it works *mostly*, BUT commonly you can't go from shortest to longest setting in one go as the pruners won't then open and close: works best when stopping en route and checking that the handle end operates the pruners at say 2 intermediate lengths. Aside from that practical issue, which is really about speed of operation, it's effective at pruning wisteria up to just shy of 5 metres high (including me!), with clear sharp cuts.

I absolutely love my new pruner. It takes some getting used to for long range cutting, but it has enabled me to reach my overgrown grapevine on a pergola which is too high to reach safely from my step ladder. It is sharp, accurate and cuts right through without tearing or shredding. I could give it 6 stars for ease of use.
