Rust Oleum Hard Hat Heat Resistant Spray Paint

Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Heat Resistant Spray Paint is a specialist aerosol coating designed to protect steel surfaces exposed to extreme temperatures, with heat resistance up to 600°C as standard and short-term peak resistance of 750°C.

Based on a silicone modified alkyd resin and formulated with lead-free and chromate-free pigments, this 500ml aerosol is ideal for small maintenance jobs and touch-up work on bare steel, blasted steel, or lightly rusted surfaces. It is equally suitable for use on properly prepared previously painted substrates.

Typical applications include barbecue grills, fireplace equipment, and space heaters — anywhere a durable, heat-resistant finish is required in sheltered or interior environments. The satin black finish cures to full hardness once a minimum service temperature of 150°C has been reached, requiring a gradual heat build-up of no more than 50°C per hour during the curing process.

Drying times are practical for on-site use, reaching touch-dry in 1 hour and handleable within 3 hours at 20°C. Recoating should be carried out within 1 hour or after a minimum of 48 hours to ensure a sound finish.
