Rust Oleum Hard Hat Galva Express Primer Metal Spray Paint

The Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Galva Express is a zinc-rich primer aerosol designed to protect bare and galvanised steel against corrosion in demanding environments.

Based on a styrene-acrylic resin and pigmented with pure zinc, this fast-drying galvanising spray delivers cathodic protection comparable to traditional hot-dip galvanising — ideal for touch-up work, repairs to damaged coatings, and small area application on new or existing steelwork.

Suited for use in light industrial settings, corrosive environments, and high-humidity conditions, it can be applied as a primer beneath compatible topcoats or used as a standalone single coat where exposure demands are moderate. It is compatible with non-saponifiable coatings for overpainting.

With a touch-dry time of just 5 minutes and handleable in 10 minutes at 20°C, it's a practical choice for contractors and fabricators who need a fast turnaround. Heat resistance up to 350°C (dry heat) extends its suitability to applications near heat sources or pipework.
