I bought this originally to make a narrow trench around my covered chicken run, into which i could drop flattened, used, roofing sheet metal, to stop the fox. It did the job well. It turns out that it is even better at doing what it was designed to do - forming post-holes with a square cross-section the width of the blade. Ive used it to put up trellises across my garden to support our plants. Really good. my dad gouged many hundreds of post holes with a circular cross-section crow bar, and he would have saved a lot of effort with this posthole digger.
