Rotabroach Element 75 Magnetic Drilling Machine

I got the element 75 mainly to replace a cheap belt Piller drill in the farm and motorcycle workshop. So I can change the speeds and tools quickly and the power is definitely there to remove metal quickly My lathe and mill is Morse taper 3 so the element 75 takes all my chucks and collet holders and boring heads with out the extra expense of buying tooling. I wanted the roatabroach over other makes because it had the most lift for longer drill bits. I made a stand for it The only downside to the roatabroach is the buttons are on the back and you have to go by feel rather than sight. I would hope I will get used to this. I looked at machines with the buttons on the side or top but they lost 1 or more other qualities I wanted eg less lift, no mt3,no speed change,shorter handle's, no reverse for threading. One machine I looked at had everything I needed including the buttons on the side but it was 3 times the price. Another down side to the element 75 is it's heavy. I had to bore holes on a H iron post that rotted at the ground and I was sweating getting it in position. But not a problem for 95% of my work. If I had to buy a big purchase like this again it would be the same magnetic drill. Very happy with it.
