Makita DSC191 18v LXT Cordless Steel Rebar Cutter
The Makita DSC191 is a cordless rebar cutter designed for cutting steel reinforcement bar and steel rod up to 20mm diameter on construction and renovation sites. Powered by Makita's 18v LXT lithium-ion battery system (sold separately), this tool delivers clean, spark-free cutting without generating dust, making it ideal for use in sensitive environments where hot work permits would otherwise be required.
Built for precision and control, the DSC191 features a 360-degree rotatable head that allows operators to work at any angle, while an adjustable stopper holds the rebar at 90 degrees to the blade for accurate, consistent cuts. The integrated LED light illuminates the cutting area in low-light conditions, and the electric brake ensures the tool stops quickly when you release the trigger. A lock-off lever provides additional safety during operation.
Designed with operator comfort in mind, the ergonomic soft-grip handle reduces fatigue during extended use. The battery protection system automatically shuts off power when the battery level drops too low, protecting both the battery and tool from damage. With a cutting time of just 6.5 seconds per cut, this rebar cutter delivers efficient performance for steelfixers, groundworkers and general contractors working with mild steel up to 400N/mm² and stainless steel up to 600N/mm².

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
