The Makita 1910A2-5 is a complete 40v XGT battery and charger starter kit designed for tradespeople investing in Makita's heavy-duty cordless platform. Introduced in 2020, the 40v XGT range represents Makita's professional-grade cordless platform engineered for demanding applications. XGT batteries feature heavy-duty housings with impact-absorbing padding, delivering enhanced drop and water resistance compared to previous generations. The rapid charging capability means batteries can be fully recharged in as little as 28 minutes, minimising downtime between tasks.
Two-way digital communication between battery and tool ensures optimum performance and reliability during operation, while the same intelligent technology between battery and charger maximises charging efficiency and battery lifespan. The integrated cooling system helps maintain optimal operating temperatures, extending overall battery durability. Each battery includes a four-LED fuel gauge with check button for convenient charge level monitoring.
The XGT platform is designed to work alongside Makita's industry-standard 18v LXT range rather than replace it, offering contractors flexibility across different applications. The optional ADP10 charging adaptor allows LXT and XGT batteries to be recharged from the same charger, reducing equipment clutter and simplifying site organisation. The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
