Black and Decker GTC1843L 18v Cordless Long Articulating Hedge Trimmer 430mm
This variant of the Black & Decker GTC1843L is the bare unit — supplied without batteries or a charger — making it the ideal choice if you already own compatible Black & Decker 18V lithium-ion batteries from another tool in the range. Simply pair it with your existing batteries and charger to get started straight away.
With a usable length of 1.98m and a reach of up to 3.5m, this long-reach hedge trimmer is designed to take on tall and awkwardly positioned hedges without the need for ladders. The 180° pivoting head locks into 5 positions for trimming tops and angled surfaces from ground level.
Diamond-ground dual-action blades provide clean, precise cuts with minimal vibration, whilst the ergonomic non-slip grips ensure comfortable, controlled handling throughout. The trimmer disassembles for space-saving storage when the job is complete.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Black & Decker 18v System
The Black & Decker 18v Li-ion System is a range of 18v tools where all 18v batteries of all ah ratings fit all tools, allowing you to buy just a few batteries but as many of the range of bare tools that you need without the expense of a new batteries and chargers each time.
